V How to verify it yourself

  1. Download the copy (manifiesto.json) and the timestamp (sello.tsr).
  2. Compute the fingerprint of the copy: shasum -a 256 cc9dyp4x8z-manifiesto.json. It should give d3c9f2e533b0457c771d373223211d24f7ac35bab3397fcb610c1b8ddfbc7e3f.
  3. Download from freetsa.org its certificates cacert.pem y tsa.crt, and check the timestamp: openssl ts -verify -digest d3c9f2e533b0457c771d373223211d24f7ac35bab3397fcb610c1b8ddfbc7e3f -in cc9dyp4x8z-sello.tsr -CAfile cacert.pem -untrusted tsa.crt. It should say “Verification: OK”.

How to use the copy (manifiesto.json)

It is the file with what Turing saved from the post: the text, the account, the date and the link. It proves the content has not changed by a single letter.

  1. Descárgalo y guárdalo junto al certificado. No lo edites ni lo vuelvas a guardar: cualquier cambio, aunque sea un espacio, cambia su huella.
  2. Saca su huella SHA-256. En Mac o Linux abre la Terminal en la carpeta del archivo y escribe:shasum -a 256 cc9dyp4x8z-manifiesto.jsonOn Windows (PowerShell):Get-FileHash cc9dyp4x8z-manifiesto.json -Algorithm SHA256

How to use the timestamp (sello.tsr)

It is the stamp signed by FreeTSA, an independent third party, under the RFC 3161 standard. It proves the copy's fingerprint already existed at that date and time, and that nobody changed it afterwards.

  1. Download the stamp and save it in a folder.
  2. Download from freetsa.org its certificates cacert.pem y tsa.crt, y ponlos en la misma carpeta.
  3. Abre la Terminal en esa carpeta (necesitas OpenSSL; ya viene en Mac y Linux) y escribe:openssl ts -verify -digest d3c9f2e533b0457c771d373223211d24f7ac35bab3397fcb610c1b8ddfbc7e3f -in cc9dyp4x8z-sello.tsr -CAfile cacert.pem -untrusted tsa.crt

How to use the OpenTimestamps proof (sello.ots)

It is the proof that the copy's fingerprint was recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain, a public record nobody can alter or delete.

  1. Descarga el archivo .ots. Ten a la mano también la copia (manifiesto.json).
  2. Entra a opentimestamps.org y arrastra el archivo .ots al recuadro de la página.
  3. Cuando te lo pida, arrastra también la copia (manifiesto.json): la página comprueba que su huella coincida.
  4. It will tell you in which Bitcoin block and on what date it was recorded. If it says it is still pending, try again in a few hours.
